Madison in Valentino! Olivia in Rabanne! Vogue World 2025: Hollywood Was a Prize Vintage Affair

The red carpet rolled out on the Paramount lot for Vogue World 2025 Hollywood. There, guests and V.W. participants donned their fresh-off-the-runway bests—Nicole Kidman and Ayo Edebiri in Matthieu’s Chanel! Greta Lee in Jonathan’s Dior!—and house ambassadors delighted in their custom looks, like newly anointed Valentino ambassador Dakota Johnson in Michele’s spring 2026 offering. Mugler enjoyed plenty of moments on the likes of Hailey Bieber and Eiza Gonzalez, while buzzy brands like Conner Ives made their own appearances.

Vogue World 2025 was a night that celebrated the rich dialogue between film and fashion, featuring looks that drew inspiration from legendary costumes worn on screen across the decades. The silver screen is an endless goldmine for sartorial inspiration; vintage, then, felt right for plenty of the night’s stars. And while Kidman’s custom Chanel look paid a stunning homage to the iconic draped bustier dress worn by Rita Hayworth in Gilda, several celebrities went for the real deal, telling their own cinematic stories via deep archive dives.

Take Olivia Munn, styled by Yael Quint, who wore look 38 from the spring summer 1993 couture collection of Paco Rabanne—sourced from Timeless Vixen, a celebrity favorite spot for rare women’s vintage designer couture fashion, founded by Lauren Lepire. “The dress was acquired from a collector who purchased it from Kathy Jean-Louis’s personal archive,” says Lepire. “We love sourcing one of a kind couture pieces at Timeless Vixen, so we were thrilled when the dress came in.”

The black silk gown, which features a metallic gold leaf motif that wraps delicately around the body, belonged to the designer’s model and muse Kathy Jean-Louis, who wore it on the runway. Munn let the dress speak for itself, with gold drop earrings and barely there black stilettos. It felt right for the studio lot, befitting of a silver screen siren.

Next up was Camila Mendes in look 53 from Ralph Lauren’s fall 2009 collection. Styled by Molly Dickson—a vintage-pulling pro for Sydney Sweeney, Ariana Greenblatt, et al—Mendes wore the beaded lace top and silk waterfall skirt with a brown buckle belt, her cherry cola red hair in a sculptural, half-up half-down do that complemented the dreamily draped outfit. This is a collection that showcased the American designer’s ability to intertwine tweedy suiting with rich velvet dresses, antique ivory and gold finishings, and glamorous eveningwear. It’s the world-building of Ralph Lauren—from Anglophilia to cool Americana, the equestrian world, and a haberdashery—that made this a stellar choice for the night.

Cynthia Erivo loves an archival moment. Be it avant-garde, icy, McQueen-designed Givenchy couture, or stripy, tennis-court ready Ralph Lauren. But it’s Dior’s back catalog where Erivo enjoys a really good deep dive, having worn several pieces from Galliano’s tenure at the house. For Vogue World, the Wicked actor opted for fall winter 1998 Dior: a pale blue, embroidered, cowl-neck dress that was lovingly sourced on eBay. Erivo toughened it up with a blazer leather maxi coat and sky-high silver platform heels.
