With December kicking off tomorrow, festive season is officially here. Dressing for the holidays—and specifically, holiday parties—is suddenly the focus of your wardrobe. Whether it’s an office Christmas party or a glamorous New Years bash, this month has plenty of fashion fun to look forward to. And the best dressed stars of the week embraced the mood of the season, choosing dazzling looks that were heavy on the shimmering sequins and elegant silks.
Take Tessa Thompson in her disco ball-worthy Balenciaga number. The blue strapless frock was fun on its own, but with her added opera gloves and pointed pumps, it felt modern and fresh. Ditto for the Loewe look that Emma Mackey wore in London: up top, her sharp black blazer felt classic and timeless, but her asymmetric skirt with a train added instant irreverence.
If skirts and dresses aren’t your holiday style vibe, there were plenty of great outwear moments worth replicating this week, too. In New York, Cynthia Erivo slipped into a luxe Max Mara coat in festive red—a perfect power coat for any holiday get-together. Simone Ashley also opted for a belted Chloé coat with capri leggings, and it felt like something a chic 1980s power executive would wear to the company party. Guess it’s time to re-watch Working Girls!
