Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are no strangers to coordinating their outfits. Over the years, the stylish couple have stepped out in all manner of complementary looks—whether on the red carpet (including many times at the Met Gala) or off-duty on the streets. If they aren’t always twinning, exactly, they do routinely seem stylishly in sync.
Last night in Santa Monica, however, when the duo stepped out for dinner at Giorgio Baldi, they took things up a notch, both embracing edgy coats that would look right at home in The Matrix.

That’s not to say that their outfits, united by long leather trenches, were totally devoid of uniqueness or individuality. Both stars made the Matrix coat work for their own styles, Rihanna being slightly punk-inspired, and Rocky going more modern and dapper. While her coat was single-breasted, styled with a long black dress, pointed pumps, a sleek Gucci bag, and some striking diamond jewels, Rocky went for a belted double-breasted coat, shrugged over a classic white dress shirt, gray dress pants, and black dress shoes.
So, should we expect them to lean into more twinning moments as fall goes on? Could they don a big shearling or faux-fur style next? Given the duo have a history of rocking power coats, we certainly wouldn’t complain.
