With spooky season officially behind us, November is officially the time to usher in holiday dressing. With crisp fall weather swirling, that means lots of textural knits, velvets, or sequined party dresses. According to this week’s best dressed stars, however, summery style is not over just yet: A-listers continued to show skin (yes, in the fall) by embracing sheer constructions and cut-outs.
Take White Lotus star Meghann Fahy, who attended the Time100 Next Gala in New York wearing a cropped Chloé top and bohemian skirt. This read as way more beachy than autumnal dressing—but it was totally on-trend with the ever-enduring boho movement. In Savannah, Kristen Stewart attended the city’s film festival in a sheer lace Fleur du Mal look, complete with an exposed bra and briefs. Again, this was the kind of frock you would imagine on a summery night out—but it felt just as sexy and fun to kick off November in. (Not pictured: A great coat to wear to-and-from the event, probably.)
There were some striking color moments on the red carpet this week, too. At the WWD Honors gala, Anne Hathaway turned heads in her archival red Valentino gown, complete with fun fringing. At the Rare Impact Fund Benefit in L.A., Selena Gomez looked to a satiny purple dress from Danielle Frankel complete with a dramatic stole. Though Gomez wore Ralph Lauren on her wedding day, Frankel—who is known for her it-girl favorite bridal designs—looks just as fab on her. So fab, she should considered renewing her vows in one of her chic gowns.
